THIS IS THE PHW FABS"WORKS" TRIKE.

IT HAS BEEN MAGAZINE FEATURED TWICE IN TWO SEPERATE PUBLICATIONS AT VARIOUS STAGES OF ITS EVOLUTION.

SOME PEOPLE MAY OR MAY NOT RECOGNISE IT AS IT HAS BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.

HERE IS THE HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF THIS TRIKE.

AS BUILT IN 1996 USING A 4.2LITRE JAGUAR STRAIGHT SIX ENGINE.THIS FIRST INCARNATION WAS BUILT ON A VERY STRICT BUDGET USING DISCARDED OR SCRAP PARTS AND MATERIAL.IT STAYED ON THE ROAD IN THIS FORM FOR AROUND A YEAR AS UNFORTUNATELY THE ENGINE BLEW UP DUE TO A CRACKED BLOCK ON THE WAY TO A SHOW LATE IN 1997.

AFTER THE EXPIRERY OF THE STRAIGHT SIX THE OPORTUNITY TO UPGRADE TO A PROPER ENGINE WAS TAKEN,THIS BEING THE 5.3LITRE V12 JAGUAR ENGINE.AS YOU CAN SEE THIS REQUIRED SOME MODIFICATION AND CHASSIS EXTENSION ALONG WITH SLIGHTLY HEAVIER DUTY FRONT FORKS.

THIS IS HOW THE TRIKE LOOKED AFTER CONVERSION TO V12 POWER.IN THIS FORM IT WAS SUBJECT TO ITS FIRST MAGAZINE FEATURE ALONG WITH OUR C50 TRIKE.BUT AGAIN SHORTLY AFTER THE FEATURE WE  TOOK IT OF THE ROAD AS WE DECIDED TO REMODEL THE REAR BODY SECTION.HOWEVER THE TRIKE WAS THEN OF THE ROAD FOR NEARLY SEVEN YEARS AS CUSTOMERS PROJECTS TOOK PRIORITY.DURING THIS TIME THE REBODY SOMEHOW TURNED INTO A FULL REBUILD AND SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE THE IDEA OF TWIN TURBOS CAME TO US.

HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF THE REAR BODYWORK REMODELING AND THE FIRST MOCK-UP TURBO'S ALONG WITH TOP MOUNT INTERCOOLER.ALSO NOTE THE TEST OF PAINT COLOUR.

HERE THE TRIKE IS NOW IN ITS FINAL COLOUR,FINISHED AND RUNNING WITH OUR OWN DESIGNED TWIN-TURBO CONVERSION.NOTICE ALSO THE RELOCATED INTERCOOLERS.SHORTLY AFTER IT WAS FINISHED IT WAS AGAIN FEATURED IN ANOTHER MAGAZINE.IN THIS FORM THE TRIKE WAS FUN TO USE AND VERY FAST BUT DUE TO THE LARGE TURBOS USED FOR THE CONVERSION IT WAS ALSO VERY "LAGGY" AND HAD A VERY ABRUPT POWER DELIVERY.

SO AFTER A FEW MORE YEARS THE DECISION WAS TAKEN TO REMOVE THE TURBO CONVERSION AND GO BACK TO NATURAL ASPERATION UNTIL WE COULD MOVE THE TRIKE TO ITS NEXT EVOLUTION.LUCKILY IT WAS AROUND THIS TIME THAT WE MANAGED TO ACQUIRE CHEAPLY ANOTHER V12 ENGINE THAT HAD HAD A FULL REBUILD BY EX ROLLS ROYCE ENGINEERS.

SOME PICTURES OF THE TRIKES CONVERSION TO NATURAL ASPERATION USEING THE REBUILT ENGINE.IT ALSO AT THIS TIME HAD A GEARBOX CONVERSION TO BORG -WARNER FROM GM TH400 AS WHEN IT WAS TURBOCHARGED WE MANAGED TO BREAK THREE GM'S.

IN THIS FORM IT ONLY LASTED A FEW MONTHS BECAUSE AS THEY SAY ONCE YOUVE HAD FORCED INDUCTION YOU NEVER GO BACK.

SO ONTO THE TRIKES FINAL STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT.

WHEN WE UNISTALLED THE TURBO CONVERSION IT WAS DONE WITH A VEIW TO CONVERTING TO TWIN SUPERCHARGERS IN THE FUTURE DUE TO THEIR MORE PROGRESSIVE AND LINEAR POWER DELIVERY.FOR A WHILE WE DID CONSIDER PRODUCING OUR OWN SUPERCHARGERS BUT THIS IDEA WAS SHELVED(ALTHOUGH WE MAY REVISIT IT IN THE FUTURE) WHEN WE MANAGED TO FIND A PAIR OF USED EATON SUPERCHARGERS(SAME SPEC AS FORD GT,BUT WE HAVE 2 OF THEM) FOR A REALLY GOOD PRICE.

HERE ARE THE SUPERCHARGERS:AS BOUGHT,STRIPPED DOWN AND BEING MODIFIED FOR OUR APPLICATION.
